About Us
The APA was established in 2003 to enhance cooperation between national prosecution agencies and authorities across the African Region. The Association was established as a response to rising instances of transnational criminal activities with its core objective being to uphold the rule of law, assist prosecutors in the fight against various crimes, promote efficient international cooperation in prosecuting crimes, promote adherence to prosecutorial ethics and harmonised legislation pertinent to criminal justice any others the conference is intended to create an opportunity for regional prosecutorial authorities to converge and engage in a concerted effort towards prosecuting transnational organised crime.
The APA is governed by an Executive Committee comprising of the President, Secretary General, Treasurer General, and five(5) Vice President of the Association for North Africa which is represented by Egypt, Vice President of Southern Africa is represented by Namibia, Vice President for Central Africa is represented by DRC, Vice President for Western Africa is represented by Cameroon Vice President for Eastern Africa is represented by Uganda and additional members are from the state of South Africa, Mozambique, Angola and Mauritius. The Association’s permanent headquarters is in the Kingdom of Morocco.
The APA convenes an Annual Conference and General Meeting. The conference provides an opportunity to hold deliberations, expand networks, share experiences, best practices, and develop effective strategies in combating crime.

Our Focus Areas
The Africa Prosecutors Association (APA) advances prosecutorial cooperation across Africa to strengthen justice delivery, uphold the rule of law, and address complex, cross-border, and emerging transnational organised crime.
Transnational Organised Crime (TOC)
APA promotes coordinated investigations and prosecutions of cross-border crimes, including counter trafficking in persons, smuggling of arms or weapons, drug trafficking and corporate espinonage, through mutual legal assistance and harmonised prosecutorial standards across jurisdictions.
Counter Trafficking in Persons & Smuggling of Migrant
Coordinating regional prosecution of trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants, ensuring victim protection and compliance with human rights and international criminal law standards.
Anti-Corruption & Money Laundering
Strengthening integrity and accountability through prosecution of corruption, bribery, and money-laundering offences, and disrupting illicit financial flows undermining governance and development. Through vigorous asset tracing, recovery, restraint, confiscation, forfeiture and repatriation of criminal proceeds to deprive offenders of illicit gains and reinforce justice system credibility.
Counter-Terrorism & Counter Financing of Terrorism
Supporting the prosecution of terrorism and related financing by enhancing intelligence exchange, investigative strategies, and compliance with international counter-terrorism legal frameworks.
