Morocco Elected Secretary General of the Africa Prosecutors Association
Marrakech – Morocco has been elected Secretary General
of the Africa Prosecutrs Association during the General Assembly of the
Association, held on Wednesday in Marrakech on the sidelines of its 17th Annual
Conference.
The Executive Committee of the Africa Prosecutors
Association also approved the establishment of the Association’s permanent
headquarters in Morocco.
At the conclusion of the General Assembly, Kenya was
elected President of the Africa Prosecutors Association for a renewable term of
two-years, succeeding Egypt, while Zambia was entrusted with the position of
Treasurer. This General Assembly was attended by El Hassan Daki, The King’s
Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public
Prosecution Office of Morocco, as well as the previous President of the
Association, Mohamed Shawqi, in addition to heads of public prosecutions from
African countries.
The conference, which continues until the 12th of this
month, opened with discussions and the adoption of resolutions resulting from
the Executive Committee meeting. These resolutions aim to strengthen the work
of public prosecutions and prosecutorial authorities across Africa and enhance
cooperation among them.
